Mohammed Hersi

I recently shot a story about a taxi driver who lost his arm in an accident. He didn't have insurance for himself, mainly because it was too expensive after all of the other costs he was paying to cover his vehicle and the fees owed to the taxi company. These guys have a very difficult job, and although they are private contractors, in many ways they aren't treated like it. Mohammed was nice enough to let me into his life and I shot this portrait of him sitting at this dining room table.

FADER 55, Drakkar Sauna

I did a shoot for The FADER last month and got to spend some time with Jeff Stolz & Wallace Cochran, who make up the band Drakkar Sauna. I had the opportunity to spend the day with these colorful characters as they played at The Basement, The Family Wash, and then ended up at a friends house, recording over a nice glass of bourbon. Here is the tearsheet from the mag.

the soothing shade

I spent last week with an amazing woman who I met in Chicago nearly two years ago. The week was filled with laughter, sunshine, good bourbon, long days with Nora, and enjoying the simple things in life - trying to wrap my head around it all. My mind is tired, my fingers nervous, and in an attempt not to bore you with a long-winded story of the week I'll leave you with some images.

This is perhaps the weirdest picture I have ever taken. This little item was in the middle of my alley last night and it totally cracked me up.

It's HOT!!!

Nashville is way too hot right now. Today it maxed out in the mid 90's and it's only June. So I went to the lake with my dog and a friend. Nice lazy day.
