Mohammed Hersi

I recently shot a story about a taxi driver who lost his arm in an accident. He didn't have insurance for himself, mainly because it was too expensive after all of the other costs he was paying to cover his vehicle and the fees owed to the taxi company. These guys have a very difficult job, and although they are private contractors, in many ways they aren't treated like it. Mohammed was nice enough to let me into his life and I shot this portrait of him sitting at this dining room table.

I always keep coming back to look at this shot. I really like it. The light, the mood, his arm, the story. I just think you really captured who this guy is, naturally.
