Every now and again I have been working with small farmers in the area on a project dealing with sustainability in food and the idea of knowing where your food is coming from. I spent the day with George and the crew over at Sea Breeze Farms while they were doing their weekly chicken slaughter as well as photographed the butcher shop and restaurant, La Boucherie. It's a fun project to work on, trying to visually explore both the simplicity and complexity of food.

Absolutely beautiful images! Thank you for showing the harvesting of the birds. That is often glossed over. It is wonderful to see images of meat being harvested and made ready for a tasty meal. :)
