Buddy Black

I am working on a photo essay on underground music throughout America. Broad, yes, but I don't care because I'm having fun with it. This is my latest addition to the essay and may develop into an entirely different story. Who knows. The rap artist "Buddy Black" lives in Jasper, Alabama in a trailer where he records most of his lyrics and beats. This was my second day spending a couple of hours in Jasper and am looking forward to photographing him over the next couple of months as he interacts with his friends and family. "Buddy Black" is hopeful for the future. Over the past 5 years he has worked odd jobs in construction, grocery stores and anything that will pay the bills. "I'll do anything to make the money i need, but i know where my passion is."

Cheny Visits Birmingham

Yesterday I had the opportunity to shoot one of the most likeable people in the United States. There was a secret service guy walking back in forth in front of the podium, probably making sure Cheney wasn't going to shoot anyone in the audience. The event was disgusting. It was a fundraiser for Jeff Sessions with each plate going for 1000 dollars. People even brought their kids to this thing, which blew me away.
