Every now and again I have been working with small farmers in the area on a project dealing with sustainability in food and the idea of knowing where your food is coming from. I spent the day with George and the crew over at Sea Breeze Farms while they were doing their weekly chicken slaughter as well as photographed the butcher shop and restaurant, La Boucherie. It's a fun project to work on, trying to visually explore both the simplicity and complexity of food.

Adaptation of a River for The NY Times
Several months ago I had the pleasure to head up to Mt. Rainier National Park with reporter Leslie Kaufman to photograph the Nisqually River as it flows out to the Puget Sound. It was a challenging and fun story to illustrate.
