Osama bin Laden's death for The New York Times

I went out to Fort Lewis for the day to photograph the reactions of soldiers the day after Osama bin Laden was pronounced dead. It was an interesting place to be, with lots of different opinions and emotions on the topic. Overall, there was a feeling of relief, but a question as to whether this would change anything. Many of the veterans who had served two or three deployments in the Middle East had more at stake in Osama's death than the younger solders, who would have been 9 or 10 years old during the 9/11 attacks.
