English Only and Speaker of the House Election

Nashville Mayor Karl Dean and Governor Bredesen vote against the English Only Bill that would prohibit the government from displaying any information in anything other than English.



Yesterday I covered the election for a new Speaker of the House in Nashville, Tennessee. It was very interesting as the Republicans and Democrats battled it out and the spot went to a Rep. Kent Williams, who swung to the Democrats against Rep. Jason Mumpower (the one who is silencing the crowd by waving his arms before he lost to Williams).
